One of my favourite restaurant sides of all times is yam fries served with a chipotle aioli dip. In other words, what’s not to like?! Not only are the fries delicious and crispy, but they also come with a creamy zesty dip that adds that extra bite.
On the negative side, the fries are usually deep fried, and the dip is usually made with full fat mayo. Therefore lots of fat AND calories, not ideal if your trying to watch your waistline. With this in mind, if your looking for a lower fat/calorie alternative that doesn’t lack in taste, this is sure to do the trick.
This Chipotle Greek Yogurt Aioli version uses non-fat greek yogurt and low fat mayonnaise resulting in the same creamy taste, with less than half the calories and fat than a regular aioli dip (and more protein…BONUS!). As a result, you have a healthy dip for your favourite sides.
If time isn’t on your side that’s OK. It takes less than 5 minutes to make, and pairs perfectly with these Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries. In addition, you can also use this aioli dip with many other foods already on your plate, including as a dressing for sandwiches and burgers, or as a vegetable dip. Experiment with it yourself! The options are truly endless.
To make the dip, mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Reserve the last 1/4 tsp of chipotle powder and add per preferences. BEWARE: chipotle chili powder is far more spicier than regular chili powder, so add cautiously if your not a “spicy” fan (it’s got quite the kick!!).
As a result you now have a delicious dip that is ready to serve! Yup, that easy. I wasn’t lying.
